Police in southeastern Finland said they confiscated a large number of firearms, ammunition and explosives from a Kouvola man earlier this summer.

Police in Kouvola said on Tuesday they confiscated 107 firearms as well as a large amount of ammunition and an unspecified amount of explosives from a local man described as elderly who they suspect is not authorised to possess them - writes yle.fi
The Southeastern Police Department said the man's arsenal consisted of rifles, shotguns, pistols and revolvers, as well as parts of firearms and 125,000 rounds of ammunition in various calibres. All were seized during a raid carried out in June.
Police suspect the man did not have the appropriate permits for the guns and ammo.
The investigation will last several months and police said the suspect is not currently in custody.
