Finnish barbershop chain M Room will open about 200 new branches in the US by 2020 with the help of former McDonald’s CEO Ed Rensi.

At the moment, M Room is present in seven countries: Finland, Germany, Latvia, Spain, Sweden, Estonia and the US, where it has two shops in Florida and three in Seattle. The shops are run by franchisees.
M Room refers to Ed Rensi as “a franchising genius”, who will add to the company’s knowhow significantly.
“Ed is a franchising master and we’re very flattered by his interest in joining our operations,” says M Company co-founder Toni Kylätasku. “Our experiences prove that M Room’s concept is an excellent fit in the US, as holistic and membership-based services have plenty of demand there.”
Rensi notes that he sees “something exceptionally interesting” in M Room.
“Currently it’s the largest barbershop chain in Europe with an abundance of opportunities in the US market,” he tells. “All things European are trending in the US at the moment.”
Rensi is not the only one whose name carries international fame in the M Room team. Boston Bruins goalkeeper Tuukka Rask is involved in the company’s expansion efforts, too.
The core of M Room’s concept lies in membership, which is offered on three levels.
