Swedish taxi industry heavyweight Cabonline Group enters the Finnish taxi market by acquiring the Kovanen and Mankkaan Taksi family businesses.
Kovanen and Mankkaan Taksi are leading companies in the Finnish taxi market, with a particularly strong position in the capital city region. Last year, their combined turnover was approximately 25 million euros.
Cabonline is the largest taxi company in the Nordics and also one of the leading suppliers of technology and services for the European taxi and transportation industry.
“The acquisitions of Kovanen and Mankkaan Taksi is completely in line with our strategy of a continuing expansion in the Nordics and I’m very proud that we are now entering the Finnish market,” says Thomas Ekman, CEO of Cabonline Group. “This is a unique opportunity for us to further build upon the experiences we have from the Swedish and Norwegian markets as Finland is now finally facing deregulating and we are really looking forward to continue digitalising and developing the Finnish market.”
Cabonline is now the largest taxi company in Finland and is thus well positioned when reforms of the Finnish taxi industry come into effect in July 2018, that will see regulations on taxi fares abolished. In Finland, Cabonline will operate under the Kovanen brand name.
