Finnish railway workers will give their office in the center of Helsinki for the construction of the hotel.
The Finnish railway company VR is going to move its main office from the historic station building in the center of Helsinki to the Pasila district. This decision was made back in 2014. The vacated premises will be bought by the development company Exilion. The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.
In 2020, the historic building, built in 1914 in Art Nouveau style by the Finnish architect Eliel Saarinen, will open the Scandic Hotel.
