From 2014 to 2015, the number of crimes committed because of dislike of Muslims has doubled.
Muslim women in Finland, wearing hijab, increasingly face cruelty, harassment and discrimination. According to the latest published statistics, in 2015, 45.7 "Islamophobic" crimes per 100 thousand people were committed in Helsinki, which is twice as much as a year earlier.
At the same time, the suburbs of the Finnish capital, Espoo and Vantaa, appeared to be more tolerant: 22.6 and 22.4 crimes were registered there against the backdrop of hatred per 100 thousand people, respectively.
In total, in 2015, Finland registered 1250 crimes, based on religious dislike. However, the authors of the study emphasize that this is probably only about twenty percent of the total, since most of such incidents are not recorded by the police.
