Finavia Corporation is implementing a large-scale investment program for the development of Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. One of its important stages will be the opening of a new wing - the southern wing of the airport. The construction is already completed. According to the website of Helsinki, test trials were conducted last week.
More than two hundred volunteers checked the readiness of the new zone for fully operating. "Test" passengers left and received their luggage, checked in for the flight, ordered coffee and snacks at the cafe, searched for the approaches to boarding and to the city - in general, did everything that ordinary passengers would do. The responses of volunteers should show how comfortable the new premises are, whether it is easy to orientate in them, whether the service is well-organized.
The southern wing of the Helsinki-Vantaa airport will be opened this summer and will serve long-distance flights going beyond the Schengen zone, mainly to China and Japan.
In 2020, Terminal 2 of the capital airport will have a western wing, the construction of which is already under way.
