Finnish Outotec has received an order for mineral processing technology and services worth 13 million euros from MMC Norilsk Nickel in Russia.
Outotec will deliver the mineral processing technology and provide related advisory services to the Kola Mining and Metallurgical Company’s concentrator plant in Zapolyarny, in Russia’s Pechenga District.
The Kola MMC plant inZapolyarny produces383 000 tonnes of nickel concentrate a year. Outotec’s order includes the delivery of filtration, thickening, flotation and analyser equipment as well as engineering, training and site services.
“Our delivery supports Norilsk Nickel’s target to improve the environmental performance of the Zapolyarny operations,” says Kimmo Kontola, head of Outotec’s minerals processing business unit.“Outotec’s dewatering, flotation and analyser solutions are designed for efficient and environmentally sound production of nickel and copper concentrates.”
